1st dev log for The Phoenix Dungeons

So, this is the first Dev Log/blog for The Phoenix Dungeons and I will start trying to do it more often than not. To start this Dev long off, I will discuss how the forest level was designed. So the Creepwood forest was a long thought-out level that never really came to life until earlier this year when I started to get into Minecraft Dungeons again. Many designs were ready for Creepwood forests such as the Bush Hunters, the early version of the Crlappa, and some other enemies that have never been showcased.

Creepwood had different concepts over the years that were just put into our Database and that were never used, there were designs for the dungeons, what the exterior of the dungeon would look like, phoenix Outposts, etc. When I originally got the idea to make a forest level I wanted it to look like a glowing forest full of glowing trees and treacherous monsters that would silently hunt you, there would be barricade monsters that would block the way to specific areas that you needed to get to, these monsters were called Crlappas.

The maps of the forests in MCD inspired me to complete the forest map, and this was the result: The map was definitely not that impressive but I wasn’t done there, I wanted to make it much better, with trees that shadow cast onto the ground with monsters that were a challenge to the player so I kept building it up over about 3 months these are the derivatives of the original map. That was the last version I took a screenshot of. The Forest maps went under drastic changes and came out awesome!

Since that last picture, I’ve added some newer maps, that are still being developed and will be shown later. I hope that this developer’s update was awesome and enjoyable and I will write again soon!
